Some people say History is one of the most important school subjects. Other people think that, in today’s world, subjects like Science and Technology are more important than History.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
It is sometimes argued that studying History plays a significant role in the school education. However, there are those who believe that intensive study of scientific and technological process is more considerable for modern students. This essay supports the former view because knowledge of your own History can not be emphasized too much. Firstly, this essay will discuss the probable uselessness of History studying for modern advanced youth, and secondly, it will analyse the importance of History realising for prevention possible socio-politicalmistakes in the long run.
On the one hand, opponents of this subject base their opinion on the assumption that it is not sensible to remember dates and events of the past years in the modern progressive time. In other words, not onlyis it boring, but it also requires much/a large amount of time to understand and to remember the chronological sequences of endless wars. However, it is clear that History learning helps in memory training and provides wide field of knowledge. For instance, having conducted a research among school children, scientists have revealed that History lovers are open minded and have more prospects for successful career.
On the other hand, proponents of this idea appeal to the fact that without knowing the past it is impossible to build a happy/bright future. To put differently, by learningthe past, the modern community is provided an opportunity to avoid irreversible consequencesof some wrong political decisions. Rarely do peopleunderstand that a battle for qualitative society creating will be lost without previous experience usage. For example, the fact of genocide policy during the Second World War makes modern world more tolerant towards different nations and religions.
In conclusion, taking into account all written above, I am firmly convinced that importance of History learning is beyond doubts. This is due to the fact that historical literacy forms the appropriate attitude to future formation.
